Ray Thomann is a recognized expert in the disciplines of personal safety and defensive tactics.  His goal is to share his knowledge, expertise and training protocols which can ultimately save lives.  As the founder of the Women’s Personal Safety Online Academy, his mission is to empower and educate women of all ages in the areas of personal safety, situational awareness and emergency management.

Ray has an extensive educational and training background.  He holds a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from Thomas Edison State University and various certifications from Rutgers University and Northwestern University.   He has also attained numerous law enforcement, emergency management and leadership certifications from the U.S. Department of Justice – FBI,  U.S. Department of Homeland Security – FEMA, NJ Division of Criminal Justice, NJ State Police Office of Emergency Management, NJ Department of Law & Public Safety, NJ Police Training Commission (PTC), Office of the Prosecutor – Burlington County, and the Northeast Counterdrug Training Center.  Ray has also received training certifications from Simunition FX, Monadnock, PPCT Management Systems Inc., Safariland,  AVADE, and No Lie Blades.

Ray’s leadership and vision have facilitated the seamless translation of his skill-sets and experiences in assignments and initiatives on behalf of law enforcement and government agencies, academia, the retail sector,  private enterprise, and private protection services. His wealth of knowledge and professionalism has earned him recognition as an expert and leader in his respective fields of service.

As an Executive Protection Professional and Trainer, Ray has led details for Forbes list and Fortune 500 companies, sports entertainment organizations,  and executive clients.  He has provided personalized safety training programs to high-profile individuals, celebrities, dignitaries, and government agents.  He has also trained countless Executive Protection Agents, Law Enforcement Officers, Military Personnel, and Security Teams in various security, emergency management and defensive tactics disciplines.

In addition to his related work experience, Ray is certified in First Aid, CPR and the use of AEDs, as an emergency management first responder.  He also holds Incident Command Certifications from the Department of Homeland Security – FEMA. 

Ray has been recognized by the State of New Jersey, NJ State Senator Diane Allen, members of government and various organizations for his contributions in the fields of Law Enforcement & Security, Personal Safety and the Martial Arts.
